Global Green turned 10 years old on the 3rd July!
A company formed on the very belief of doing things ‘properly.’
Much like the very best chefs who create a new dish, we weren’t entirely sure how the final result would look. More passengers or maybe pilots along for the food ride. So rather than boring you with a spread on the typical start up story, we thought we’d share a few highlights in the most quantitative, universally adored way possible – A Top 8.
1. 53 logos were hand sketched before selecting our famous green leaf.
2. An Accident? - The name Global Green Foods was entirely accidental. Too many chefs in the kitchen?
3. To the Wire - Pana Organic was discovered at a Dubai trade show just 30 minutes before closing time. The quickest signing of our lives!
4. Hitting the Ground running - We began supplying the world’s biggest airline only 9 months after our inception (yes we still can’t believe it till this day).
5. 12 million kgs – The amount of rice we have delivered to customers as of 1st July.
6. 14,000km – currently the furthest distance our rice travels onboard a single flight.
7. A UAE 1st – launched in 2011, our smaller 2kg & 5kg King of Basmati bags were the first in the UAE to be resealable.
8. Chickpeas – Till this day all our chickpeas are still hand sorted. Automated machinery still cannot differentiate a good and bad chickpea!
So there you are! 10 years of Global Green history. We’ve got some stunning ideas in the pipeline over the next few years. Many of which may will remained locked in our ‘vault of ideas’, some of which will be coming on to your plates soon. We look forward to flipping the food industry on its head for another 10.
